hotboot
A rear view would help me decide but the black unpainted looks good and visually hides some size. That bike is ready to ST !

hotboot
Thanks for the pictures stephen. Those brackets look thinner and lighter than the Yamaha turd pieces, let us know how they fare in real use.
grogsym
I fitted the same brackets on Friday, very neat and tidy. Two bolts on each side, a bit loctite, job done. Worked fine in use, done about 100 miles on Saturday with no issues. Will likely bend if dropped, so don't drop your bike
redfjniner
Just a note about the Yamaha brackets for the saddle bags. They also include a cross member, which appears to also provide additional support. I don't know if this is over kill or if it was engineered or just put there "because". Besides the brackets being hell for stout made of steel, adding cross bracing certainly makes them useful for: listing the bike on the center stand. The bike is much harder to raise up on the center stand when the bags are loaded. Ken, Candy Ass L.D.R. toast
So the French mounts work with the FJ bags too?
smoothbored
I was unable to get any pricing online for the FJR side cases. Emailed my selling dealer for the smaller and larger case prices, still no reply. Has anyone seen the French type brackets for sale in the U.S. ? This looks like this is going to take longer than I thought it would. Do lock Cylinders come with either OEM side cases? 15J09-05FJR1300-07DL1000-16GSX1000S

dkoh
OK, so in the US these things are completely discontinued (the unpainted ones). I was on the phone with them for a bit and I got transferred to NA Corp parts guy. He says they don't do a direct FJR-to-FJ p/n "match" because of the weight issues and that he could not recommend them. I told him I don't care and that these things are in strong demand and I don't really care what bike they classify them under. It's either Yamaha or aftermarket bags. He's going to get back to me this week tell me what's going on with these. BYW, I also strongly suggested they offer cruise (again) to make this sport-tourer a little more tourer.
