I ground mine down on the closer side of the weld and didnt get 15mm but haven't had any issues with the shorter connection. Your clean-up of the pipe looks really good, it should fit like a glove. Wait until you fit the slip-on to the mid-pipe, their craftsmanship is absolute perfection, I was very impressed. ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
BBB
So the exhaust is lighter, looks nice and sounds deeper, but is not too loud. Any downsides or is it all good? Supporting Member piotrek Posted February 12, 2019 Supporting Member Share Posted February 12, 2019 Exhaust is done. It took a bit of effort in getting the mid-pipe onto the header stub, but on it went... albeit very snug. Testament to the quality of the mid-pipe maybe? All aligned nicely in the end and I am very pleased with the install. Great find @captainscarlet. If only I could hear it sing. The hanger bracket width was a bit short of the overall span between the mount points on the bike. I wasn't comfortable torquing things down in that state, so I fitted a 1/8" spacer (washer) on the brake side. Seems to be a bit of an oversight on Scorpion's part... or have I missed something? Another note... it is indeed possible to wiggle out the OE exhaust without removing the centre stand. A couple of glamour shots... love the low profile of this can. 4

I have even caught myself looking down at people who change to louder exhausts. And yet here I am, drooling over yet another Scorpion-porn photo, thinking of ways to rationalise the £400 purchase. Did those who have succumbed buy the dB killer as well, because it looks like it doesn’t come with it automatically? And how hard was it to remove the exhaust header nuts, as mine look corroded? The dB killer is included. The kit comes with everything you need to fit the silencer so you don't need to source any additional parts yourself. My header nuts came off without issue although as the bike only gets ridden six months of the year they haven't been exposed to much in the way of rain or salt. A good shot of penetrating oil and a well fitting socket (6 sided not 12 sided) should do the job. CS
KANNON
Installed my scorpion.instructions read to remove center stand.I did not have to.I put my bike on a pit bull swingarm stand, remove all mounting hardware then take off end cap from rear of stock muffler.drop rear of exhaust, now take center stand down to about a 45 degree angle.stock exhaust comes out the front.Plenty of room to do it that way.Hope it helps someone.

You can also put the bike on the side stand and remove the exhaust by moving the center stand up and down a little as you maneuver the exhaust out, no need to remove the end cap. 2 ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
Tripletrouble
With regards to sound, is this a lot noisier? I've had enough of loud exhausts, they're great bombing around locally, but tiring on a longer trip out. I find the stock looks great, but a throatier meatier sound is what I'm looking for..
