  1. If you don't mind me asking; how tall are you? I'm not sure I'd fit on a Tracer 700 (I'm 6') but my g/f might (5'2").
  2. Same as the rest; less pressure. Had one on my DL1000 and LOVED it, but yes, too much pressure and it will bounce a bit. Sadly it didn't fit on my FJ so when I sold the DL the Airhawk went with it.
  3. Just wait until the cicadas come out to say 'hello'.
  4. I('ve) have (had) this happen. Now I want to have my riding pants altered so I can zip the back of the jacket to the back of the pants. I'm not that smart, so it took a few cold rides to get why the jacket came with about a foot of extra zipper. In the meantime, I've been using a light wicking layer over a t-shirt and just tucking the whole thing in.
  5. aww hell yeah!! Looks like paradise
  6. Holy crap, that crosses the line from being a mere skid plate and moves right into vehicle armour territory
  7. I've had good results with a Vstream touring. N20318 VStream+® Touring Windscreen for Yamaha® for Yamaha® FJ-09 National Cycle's VStream® Windscreens have turned the...
  8. Nice touch, but did you just give me the finger?
  9. It arrived last Friday, but I was only able to take it to a shop today for installation. Ordinarily I'd just DIY, but when it comes to, oh, finished materials and 3M contact cement...I don't trust myself to prevent a) gooey fingerprints all over the place b) creases c) wrinkles d) tear in the fabric e) wrong staplegun on hand. Should be a quick job. When I picked it up, the guy said - geeze, you're lucky, that only took 38 days - current orders are around 4 months out. So, that backs up what you heard, too.
  10. Here's how the medium fits with a touring screen. Might be a bit tight, but it's certainly not going anywhere.
  11. This is exactly my experience, too, great way to put it into words. It feels about as close to a magic carpet as I'd imagine one would feel.
  12. 3rd-ed. Michelin Road 5; have ridden a bit of gravel and been perfectly fine. Not much leaning, of course...
  13. @PhotoAl said it better than I could have!! As someone who seems to be aging quickly rather suddenly, I can't echo @PhotoAl's words strongly enough - I'd absolutely be interested in what you've done to enjoy your two wheeled adventures as thoroughly as you have. Your experiences are important for some of us to learn from.

    Semiahmoo

My grandparents lived in White Rock, BC, just across the line north of Semiahmoo, literally across the street from the reserve. Beautiful part of the world. I've been to Lynden, Wash, many times, and Seattle, too, of course. Great pics. Would LOVE to ride the shoreline like you did. Nice n long ride with beautiful scenery.
  15. Got mine and installed it yesterday and went for a ride. LOVE IT. Although, with new gear comes new problems and new things to remember. As I was riding back through the rain and snow from Wetaskiwin last night, I kind of looked down and gave the bag a wiggle to test for stability, and wouldn't you know it, I forgot to zip the damn thing up. Thankfully, nothing blew out, and, despite the intense 'wet', everything stayed dry, even with the zipper wide the eff open. Love the electrics RKA provided...a battery cable with an extension that feeds into the bag in such a way as no water will be allowed in, and they provide a dual USB port. Perfect for a cpl gadgets; keeps them dry and fully charged at all times.
  16. I got one, too. It's worth the wait. It's heavier than you might think, but that just lends itself to 'solid'. It's soooo nice to be able to glance down but not too far down, eg handlebars. Plus I found the handlbar x-grip obscured the dash a bit. Much cleaner setup now. That mount you designed, @motopumps - impressive!! You're really on to something there, great work.
  17. British Columbia, Canada, dropped it, too, for the same reasons. All the real clunkers died and have been shredded, and anything new runs wayyy cleaner now, including and especially bikes like ours. It's a shame they can't find the compromise with clean(er) emissions and the enthusiast / consumer market. I want to be conscious of clean air, but I enjoy the toys, too. I dunno, enforce catalytic converters, or something. I don't mind running toys with cats. I put one back ON my 92 Geo Tracker. No appreciable performance impact, and it doesn't stink nearly as badly on the trails. But to outright ban the largest mod / tuning sector seems a bit of an overachievement somehow. I'm sure a balance can be found.
  18. Great road! Tight, but good visibility. Twisty without the risk of a low side. Beautiful scenery, too.
  19. wow, brutal...makes me glad I got my order in when I did!!
