  1. It’s a 2 amp fuse, if you tried to use an air compressor, I guarantee you blew the fuse. If using a compressor, connect it direct to the battery terminals.
  2. I highly recommend removing and greasing the swing arm pivot and linkage. I serviced mine at the one year mark (16k mileage) and they were in dire need of grease. Removing the swing arm might seem like a daunting task but it is very easy on this bike. I have done it twice and can now have the wheel and swing arm removed and replaced in about 30 minutes.
  3. MUCH better. I agree with @raggededge. Hold the front brake and press down as hard as you can and see how close they get to the fender.
  4. So, is the red dial at the top for rebound adjustment? If so, how is it accessed when the shock is mounted?
  5. Since you asked... Honestly, I think the bar across the front end looks hideous. It looks completely out of place.
  6. The wheels look great, do you think the plasti-dip is durable enough to withstand a tire change or does it simply peel right off?
  7. @ridebmx. I think it looks fantastic, GREAT JOB, I would love to hear a bit more on the proceedure and products used. I have been looking for a relatively cheap and non-permanent option to change the color on mine.
  8. Im hoping the white robot suit is an optional accessory in the Yamaha catalog when the bike is released. 8-)
  9. I just checked the Yamaha website and my local Yamaha dealer is having a demo days in June. No Tracer or GT, no Niken either, - maybe next year. ** Friday - Saturday - TIME: 10:00AM to 5:00PM ** Come out and Demo any of these bikes: Venture, Eluder, Bolt FJR1300, Tenere MT-10, MT-09, MT-07 XSR900, XSR700, FJ-09 R6, R3
  10. Plus the beefed up frame which is unique only to this bike and the much wider cowling/ bodywork. Thats about what I was guesstimating. FJ +100 lbs.
  11. It sounds like you enjoy it every bit as much as I do. For only $230 and about an hour down time, it’s a very worthwhile improvement.
  12. You cant beat a free set of tires, especially the Angel GT's! Very Nice!
  13. I have great rain gear except the boots. I stayed dry minus the soaked feet. And first time riding in wet weather. It was interesting....Oh, I have rain gear as well, but I HATE riding in the rain. Limited visibility, limited stopping distance, limited traction, limited corner speed and lean angles... and then the bike is filthy covered in road wash and debris. I don’t commute, I ride only for fun. If it’s pouring rain, I’ll stay at home and watch Netflix.
  14. Well, what do you think? Curious to hear your opinion on the new forks.
  15. Betoney... Is there a confirmation as to why there are two diagnostic levels: 14 and 15? Redundant for safety, or different because there are two sensors in the APS sensor. I started at 14:17 and 15:16 And ended up at 14:14 and 15:12 I honestly have no idea why it’s set up the way that it is. You should notice a nice smooth transition during on/off throttle now
  16. The first thing I would do before the trip is get a revised clutch cable to replace your original, then I would mount some sort of off road tire. I have spoken to many who have made the trip to Alaska and rule #1 is to expect the unexpected, sudden crazy weather, poor condition roads or mud sections, stores without supplies/fuel etc. There are lots of great blogs with survival tips for those attempting this trip.
  17. I've always "offered" it (nee Advanced) but recommend is a different matter. Must have been a misunderstanding on my part when I ordered. I thought I got Advanced. Not a big deal, the forks work fantastic, I just thought that the lower bolt compression adjuster was the ONLY method available.
  18. yes... took a min or two... DIY kit from pattonme- the #2a option w/ adjustment at the fork caps rather than axle block and a KTech Razor R ... So he offers compression adjustment on one of the fork caps now? I got my cartridges done last year and both fork caps had rebound adjustment and one bottom cartridge bolts had compression adjustment. Good decision to finally get the suspension set up correctly, it’s worth every penny!
  19. Hmm... what part of this equation doesn't add up?
  20. I have Matt’s fork cartridges and I put the compression screw on the left leg (when sitting on the bike) that way when I adjust the compression I can pull the axle out about 1” to get at the screw without having to remove the entire axle. With his compression screw, a small adjustment makes a big difference, like from 12 o’clock to 2 o’clock noticeably firms up the front end.
  21. Not trying to hijack this thread, but does anyone know what shade of red the '15 model is listed as? **EDIT** Never mind, I found it. Yamaha 0918 Deep Red Metallic K (Shift Red) SKU # : 5253 Vendor : ColorRite Manufacturer : Yamaha Manufacturer Code : 0918 Requires Base #1253
  22. I purchased mine from eBay 2 weeks ago, the seller was dude0_15. Shipped from the UK. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-MT-09-Tracer-900-Sport-Tracker-Street-Rally-XSR900-Chain-Adjusters/232712117141?hash=item362eb91b95:g:Q3sAAOSwj85YRvxZ Thank You!! No wonder I couldn't find them, I was searching for "axle block" and he has them listed as "chain adjuster". My buddy will be happy that they are still available for sale.
  23. Glad to hear that you got it all back together, just the stiffer springs will make a nice difference but with revalved internals as well, I think you are REALLY going to love the front end now.
  24. narrowed my choices down... -Cogent Dynamics carts and basic rear -pattonme carts and the zx6r (?) rear -stoltec carts and basic rear I plan to do the cart/spring swap myself... just need it for 50/50 street/track- Im more of a set it and forget it kinda guy... For a very fair price you can get Matts cartridges which work VERY well and Norwest basic revalve and spring for the shock.
