I have the reusable lifetime filters (K&N or GYTR) in my bike and truck and don't find them to be overpriced or a waste of money at all. I think I paid $35 for the filter and $20 for the recharge kit (cleaner and oil) which has last me for a few years, cleaning a few times a year.

I bought these ---> Mirror Extenders.

What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?

Damn you Scott - You've got me drooling on my keyboard. 🌮 😎 -
I normally use either Pirelli Angle GT or the Battlax S21. Angle GT's last me about 8-9,000 miles of mixed highway and sport riding, the S21's about 5,500-6,000 miles. It sounds like tires don't last all that long for you and your riding style, so take my mileage with a grain of salt.

Bridgestone currently has a $50 Rebate per set on the Battlax S22. I have gone through 3 sets of the predecessor - Battlax S21 - AWESOME sport tire!

Nice!! I'll have to drink more beer and see what I can find lurking in the garage. 😎 -
Many different answers for different applications. @Larz Are you commuting? touring? sport riding? track days? A good sport-touring tire cant be beat as an all around tire, wet or dry. I have been using Bridgestone S21 sport tires lately, aggressive sport riding, long distance touring, wet, dry and cold pavement, even a several mile long road construction zone during a downpour with mud ruts! In the last 3 weeks, I have gone almost 4,700 miles during 2 road trips through Northern California. In the twisties and mountain pass sweepers we were riding very aggressively, absolutely punishing the tires (and suspension) and the tires performed without a fault. I had the Bridgestone S21's, my brother had Pirelli Angel GT's, a friend had Pirelli Angel ST's and another buddy had Michelin PR4's, I was very impressed with the performance of all of the tires used.

I run that exact same pressure in both sport or sport/touring tires.

Have you already used the switched aux plugs behind the screen? No sense running fog light wiring to the back of the bike.

Is there any other way?? 😎 Smooth, twisty asphalt, sticky tires and well sorted suspension coupled with this kickin' CP3 motor, life doesn't get much better than that. -
How many miles on your FJ?

I just installed a set of Battlax S21's yesterday, another great Bridgestone tire. They should be shot by August, I have another set of T31's in the garage ready for a trip through Utah and Colorado in September, glad to hear that you like the tires, this is my 3rd set of S21's but first time trying the T31's. -

@redfjniner - you're killing me... I live in the same region as you and follow your ride reports. I am familiar with a lot of the areas you write about and am green with envy at all of the riding you do. Central Oregon, Northern California, Idaho... SOOO many fantastic roads. Stay safe out there. -

Today I got new Bridgestone S21's installed F&R. Ready for a 2500 mile trip to N.California next week. 😎 -
My buddy has a Haynes manual also and it tells him to do some silly steps for simple maintenance. Use the Haynes for fire starter and get an official Yamaha manual. When I replaced mine, I taped the end of the new cable to the old one and pulled the entire thing through the frame down to the engine end. If you work it through slowly it shouldn't bind up or catch on anything.

Frame sliders....what have you got??
betoney replied to johnmark101's topic in Tracer 900 GT Discussions
I use Extended Frame Sliders on Ebay I can put my feet up on them like highway pegs or fully extend my legs and rest the base of my calf on them. I have bad knees and being able to move my legs to different positions on longer rides is a nice option. -
What do you think of the OEM tires?
betoney replied to johnmark101's topic in Tracer 900 GT Discussions
You could save a fortune just using everyone’s oem tires that they don’t want. -

Scott, that is the perfect description. Thank you. Even more incentive to get the suspension upgraded. 👍🏻 -

They are fine for general riding or commuting but didn’t impress me at all for sportier riding. I picked up a large nail in mine just over 4,000 miles and wasn’t upset at having to change them out early. I currently run Bridgestone S21 sport tires on mine, but also have sport touring tires on the shelf in the garage. -

Yes, always. I let it run for a minute or two and then let it settle for about 5 minutes before checking sight class and adding more. -

Liking the way it feels is all that’s matters. When you are riding, no one can see it anyway. 👍🏻 -

I didn’t do any accurate measurements to determine mine either, I filled it to the top of the sight glass and it took 3 complete quarts to reach that point. -
@motodunner - They are reversible so that you can do exactly that. I believe the difference between forward or reversed position is 10mm.

Its odd that there is such a variance between bikes, 2.5qts fills yours but is just visible on the bottom of the sight glass on mine, It doesn't make sense. I have a '15 with original oil pan, do you have a later model or replacement oil pan? I wonder if the oil pan volume is slightly different?
