  1. Unfortunately, it is operating normally, it was designed that way on purpose. Every time I see a bike with only one of the lights operating, I think something is broken. I wish they would do away with that stupidity already. Since I hate that look, I use the high beam all the time, I simply aimed it down even with the one functioning light and now it doesn't look ghetto.
  2. @wordsmith - the ones pictured look exactly like a Chinese knock-off of the SW Motech mirror extenders. All of the standard Yamaha models (FZ/FJ/XSR/MT/Tracer) listed on the SW Motech website are listed with M10 hardware in the install instructions.
  3. Scott - that is the exact route we are going to take across Utah toward Colorado. I have only been through Northern Utah before and never Colorado, looking forward to the Million Dollar Highway into Durango.
  4. The FJ has one "dead" fork leg, no adjustability, spring only. The new model has hydraulic preload shock adjuster vs manual on the FJ. Whether the damping and spring rate have been improved or changed is debatable. In theory, the GT "should" have better suspension up front.
  5. And with the 2" longer swingarm, I would think that the Tracer and GT would be more stable than the shorter wheel based FJ. Maybe I'm incorrect in my thinking?
  6. I cant say 100% for sure but they sure LOOK exactly like the adventure pegs sold in Europe. A lot of Yamaha models share some common parts.
  7. The important thing is finding something that works for you and sticking with it, the internet can give you thousands of different ideas and opinions and even possibly make you start to doubt your decisions. Go with what you know. To be fair though, I'm with everyone else on here that has chimed in, I have NEVER heard of anyone actually using 42psi in the rear, and definitely not in the front. But like I said, if it works for you and the bike isn't behaving oddly because of it, don't change from what works for YOU.
  8. That's not a bad price at all, considering he is building the parts to your specs, installing them and then getting everything setup to your wants and needs. I'll be following this with great interest.
  9. Yes, I have the factory 12v accessory outlet (to the left of the screen) connected, the 2nd one is powering my GPS, the 3rd one is powering my Denali running lights and I still have the remaining square black one that you can see in the photo. You might have to dig around a bit, mine were tucked in a sort of rubber sheath, I cut it back to expose all of the connectors.
  10. His photo is the area behind the windshield and there are at least 3 spare connectors there available that power on with the ignition.
  11. Triumph claims 165 hp and 163 pound-feet of torque from the 2020 Rocket 3 R and GT 2020 Rocket 3 “I think people are going to be genuinely surprised about how you can throw this thing around on a twisty road. It handles so much better than people are ever going to expect it to.”
  12. At this point, it has been half a year since your original post, with "maybe" a September ship date. You could have had a custom seat made months ago.
  13. I know this is crazy talk here - but what happens when you decelerate normally, ya' know, with your hands on the bars?
  14. I have a '15 as well and my highway fuel economy doesn't change between drive modes, I wish it did. When I bought the bike there was a lengthy discussion on this site about that topic so I tried it for myself. I ran a 10 mile stretch of flat highway in each mode with the cruise control set to 70mph, fuel consumption and trip meter reset between each run once I got set at 70mph, my results were maybe 0.1 - 0.2 mpg difference between modes over 10 miles but your results are about 7.5 mpg difference. Do you have a different ECU flash or something? I'm not sure why you are noticing such higher highway mileage in B mode?
  15. I have always heard that about the BMW electronics, its almost like you have to buy proprietary accessories. I briefly owned a BMW car and once the electronic problems started, they multiplied like a virus. It was an absolutely miserable ownership experience.
  16. What about fork height? The height of the forks in the triple clamps can change the steering sensitivity, a lot of folks raise theirs 5-10mm.
  17. If you like the stock tires just wait until you put a set of higher quality tires on the bike, very noticeable difference.
  18. I completely disagree, I believe it is bike setup. After reading several members experience, I had to go try for myself today. I tried at least a dozen times on a level road as well as a downward slope and speeds from 40 to 55mph, maintaining a set speed and then suddenly drop both hands off the bars and coast down to 20-25mph (until I got so slow that I started weaving side to side) and couldn't get it to do anything except decelerate in a straight line. No luggage on the bike except a tank bag, no hand guards, aftermarket suspension setup track-side by a suspension tuner, forks raised 5mm in the clamps, half worn tires with 38psi F/R.
  19. Yes, I read that @quetech listed his weight as 89kg, I was asking about the settings he listed from Dave Moss' article.
  20. Did the article mention what rider weight these settings are based on? He seems to be using a fair amount of spring preload on both ends.
  21. @wordsmith - Glad to hear that you got things sorted to your liking. A little trial and error and persistence goes a long way. The nice thing with suspension settings is everything is reversible if you don't like it, don't be afraid to experiment with one or two more clicks to see how it feels, if you hate it just set it back to where it was.
  22. The furthest I have gone is just over 20 miles.
