  1. I use the Tour Master Synergy 2.0 Heated Vest Liner W/ Collar I only use it on the lowest setting (it gets HOT) and in conjunction with the heated grips, I'm good to go down to freezing weather. The best part on a frosty morning - the HEATED COLLAR!!
  2. @Larz - Looks good! Looking forward to that ride report but "Holy Wheelie" is a good start! 👍
  3. Like @skipperT mentioned, the nut is a security type nut and technically a one time use, just like the front sprocket nut. Make sure you have a replacement before you undertake this project so you aren’t waiting a week with the bike torn apart.
  4. I used the clutch holding tool and a breaker bar. The clutch holding tool is just a special shaped vice-grip tool with tabs on the end to hold the basket, it’s not too expensive. The basket is about $400, you DO NOT want to improvise with a homemade tool and damage it.
  5. Life is tough sometimes, isn't it? 😎
  6. Thanks for resurrecting this @keithu I just did this mod myself today, I will definitely need to paint it all satin black as the chrome is blinding in the sunshine. I don't know how those Harley riders can stand the glare. $8 and a few minutes of time, sooo simple.
  7. That sounds like some pretty heavy duty stuff, maybe attempt to try a heat gun near the base? I have only had the base of one come loose once, where mine usually lose their adjustment is the upper mirror itself. When I get up to higher speeds the wind will make them fold in slightly so I am forever re-adjusting them.
  8. I have removed my mirrors a few times and the nut wasn't difficult to turn by any means. I used a standard 8" Crescent wrench.
  9. Very interested in hearing how it runs after the exhaust and flash, I have heard that the Graves system with a quality fuel map makes a VERY noticeable difference. I believe @norcal616 has a Graves full exhaust?
  10. It sucks having parts out of stock, at least you have something else coming in it’s place. While you are waiting, get your ECU flashed for the Graves system.
  11. Yep - that PN is listed for the MT09. Sorry to hear that they screwed it up. I would call first thing in the morning and insist that they overnight the correct one with a pre-paid shipping label for the return.
  12. @Larz - Look on page 2 of this thread, I posted pics of my mid-pipe, it is definitely an "S"shape, is it possible that they sent you the MT09 version? If you have the receipt or packing slip or maybe a marking on the box, it should have the model number, like RYA101TEO, it will vary slightly depending on the finish of your silencer.
  13. I called 2WDW and talked to Travis, I didn't understand all of his technical jargon but he was saying it is much easier to get a "near-perfect" fuel map on an aftermarket exhaust vs the restrictive stock unit. For some reason the fuel map they make for the stock exhaust is improved over stock but has minor compromises. Definitely give VCYCLENUT a call and see what he recommends.
  14. ***UPDATE*** The flash for the Scorpion was a HUGE success!! I have my ride mode default to A mode but occasionally would switch to B mode in city stop and go traffic as the on/off fueling was smoother, even with the previous flash. Unless I was very smooth with my throttle hand, the initial opening and final closing point of throttle was a little jerky like taking up slack in a tow strap when towing a vehicle, NOT ANYMORE! every millimeter of throttle travel feels butter smooth, the best way I can describe it is - the smoothness of B mode on steroids with a quick turn. Engine braking thankfully wasn't altered from their stock exhaust map, its still light and unobtrusive when transitioning from corner to corner, and the burble and occasional pop on trailing throttle is gone. The initial flash from factory to the stock exhaust map was a huge improvement, this new flash is as if I had never had it flashed previously, 2WDW really knocked it out of the park! And you cant beat the price!! 😎
  15. That is a great idea, I hadn't seen that mentioned before. I don't know the first thing about bicycle components, is 100mm a standard skewer width?
  16. The more zig-zaggy, the better-er. If you enjoy Oregon, your next route should be Northern California - you will literally lose your mind, it is ridiculous fun.
  17. @NordyNordman - It looks like you are headed to Hells Canyon, Highway 86 out of Baker City is AWESOME! while you are in that area, if I can make a suggestion- instead of taking the interstate North, Highway 3 North out of Enterprise, Or. goes through Rattlesnake Grade, it is exactly what it sounds like, twisty road going up and down in elevation for miles. 👍
  18. I “might” already have some verified scientific findings... I’ll just say - “gotta love sport tires...”. 😎
  19. Absolutely beautiful ride, and the roads are in perfect condition on the West side of the mountain riding out of Toledo. I can neither confirm nor deny, but “I have heard it is possible” to ride most of Spirit Lake Highway at or near triple digit speeds through those long flowing sweepers. Of course this is on a weekday morning with zero traffic. 😎
  20. One other note on your route plan, Interstate 5 from the Canadian border down through Olympia can be absolute MISERY depending on the time of day and or day of the week.
  21. @NordyNordman - do you have to go through Portland? If not There are much more enjoyable areas to ride in Oregon. If you continue South down the coast to Waldport, you can take 34 inland to Alsea and then continue on 20 into Sisters and Bend or drop down to 242, between Belknap Springs and Sisters and ride McKenzie Pass!
  22. Just curious.... how often do riders pull off to the side of the road and think, “I sure wish I had brought my bicycle with me?” 😎
  23. @Larz The bike hasn’t been running bad at all, the only thing I’ve noticed is a slight burble and occasional pop on deceleration. I keep the baffle in. I was just curious so I decided to give 2wheeldynoworks a call and they informed me that they have a specific flash just for the scorpion slip-on, so I decided “why not”?
